Deloraine is the perfect location for our school. The fresh air and proximity to the wilderness is ideal for our students. We can explore our beautiful surroundings and even play in the snow just a few minutes away from our premises. It is quiet and calm on our campus, yet we enjoy all the features of a town with access to shops, services and facilities. This gives our children real life experiences and practice in many areas.
When you visit Giant Steps Tasmania, you instantly notice a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Everything we do is focussed on improving the lives of our children and their families. We are pleased to have created a culture dedicated to supporting them and each other.
This atmosphere of support extends into the community. The people of Deloraine are very accepting of our students. We like to be out and about and social interaction forms an important part of our program. Walking around the town we get many friendly smiles.
Many people tell us they are proud to have us in the town and that it is an honour for Deloraine to support us. We in turn feel humbled to hold such a place in the town’s heart.
We are part of the town and are made welcome in all shops and services. The community’s continual support is shown through the many gifts and random acts of kindness we receive.
