The Enrolment
Process

We accept enrolments from all over Australia and even overseas. If you would like to enrol your child, the best thing to do is call or email us.

We accept enrolments from all over Australia and even overseas. If you would like to enrol your child, the best thing to do is call or email us.

The principal or another senior member of staff will discuss your child’s diagnosis of Autism (ASD). This discussion will cover your child’s characteristics and challenges, their level of funding, their history of interventions and what you hope to achieve for your child. It is also an opportunity for you to gauge if we are suitable for your child and to determine what sort of enrolment (part time/full time) may be suitable. Giant Steps Tasmania is able to enter into dual and part time enrolments with other government and non-government schools.

At this stage, the school will send you out an information pack providing detail about Giant Steps Tasmania and a summary of enrolment considerations —including brief details on how to access government funding.

We strongly recommend you come and visit our facilities. This is the best way to understand our programs and philosophy. It’s also a great way to understand the best way for your child to connect with the school.

When you’re ready to go ahead, we’ll send out an enrolment form and have a more detailed discussion to about the required paperwork for your child's enrolment.

We will then work with you to develop a transition plan to plan your child's transition into Giant Steps.
